Apple Gains on All Devices - iOS Gains a Record .37% Global Usage ShareIn April, Apple has increased their usage share in all four major devices they produce. The Mac OS, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch all gained share in the last month. On three devices, Apple has reached an all-time high usage share.
Browser Wars - Is Microsoft's Strategy Working?Last month we detailed Microsoft's strategy with Internet Explorer 9, where they decided to skip XP support in order to optimize the browser for Windows 7. After one month, Internet Explorer 9 is benefiting from Windows 7 momentum and has doubled its usage share on Windows 7 from 3.6% last month to 7.5% in April. Also, Internet Explorer 9's daily usage share for the last day of the month (April 30th) hit 9.95% worldwide on Windows 7.According to Microsoft, Internet Explorer is designed to take advantage of the graphics capabilities of Windows 7 and the underlying hardware for better performance and integrates websites into the Windows 7 experience. |
